Joint secretary to RD & mission, mission director Imtimenla along with SMMU team visited Mongsenyimti village under RD block Chuchuyimlang block Mokokchung on April 20 and 21.
A press release by DFS (NSRLM), DMMU/DRDA Mokokchung, Takalemba Jamir stated that the visit was undertaken as a monitoring support under Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), which at present has a target coverage of 11 districts, 74 blocks and 1241 villages in the state.
The team interacted with VLOs and Community Resource Persons (CRPs) for implementing livelihoods strategies in the block and also visited the livelihoods sites such as nutritional garden and piggery breeding unit project, at Mongsenyimti village.
During the programme, ADPM DMMU Mokokchung, Moatoshi presented comprehensive achievements report in the district for FY 2020-2021.
Joint secretary to RD & mission, mission director Imtimenla exhorted SHG members by highlighting the success of women SHGs in NSRLM across the state.
She appealed to the village council, elders and every individual for their cooperation in the success of the mission.
DRDA Mokokchung, project director Toshimongla Kichu showed impress with the progress the mission had made in the district and by the work culture of the mission staff.
Acknowledging DMMU Mokokchung as piloting district on the significant progress made in NSRLM target, NSRLM chief operating officer, M. Rollan Lotha reiterated on the importance of documentation
He also shared about the mission’s mandate on formation of community level federation and intervention in the lives of the rural household through livelihoods support.
Further, he urged the team to come up with innovations towards sustainable income generating activities to make Mongsenyimti village a “model village”.
The SMMU team was led by NSRLM COO M. Rollan Lotha, SPM (finance) Elilo Odyuo, SPM (IBCB, M&E) Imonenla Imkong Phom, SPM-MIS Renvungo Murry, spM-FI Rajuselie Lhousa, SPM-IQAB Vesuyi Tetso, PM-finance Lansothung Yanthan and NSRLM accountant Alongba Imchen.
The programme was hosted by District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) Mokokchung and Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), Chuchuyimlang.
It may be mentioned that NSRLM is a rural poverty alleviation programme undertaken by ministry of rural development in the country, with a mission to reach out to the “poorest of the poor” and enable the poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities.
