A state level tribal painting competition among Tribal Students was held on the occasion of Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas 2023 at DUDA Conference hall, Kohima on November 24. This program was organised by Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Department of Tribal affairs.
Joint secretary of the Tribal Affairs Department, Hito Sema, NCS, in his keynote address highlighted that the Government of India has officially declared November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, a day dedicated to honoring the memory of brave tribal freedom fighters.
Hito Sema stated that India’s freedom struggle had been significantly bolstered by the various movements led by tribal communities, which were characterized by immense courage and the ultimate sacrifice of those involved. The program was followed by painting competition on the theme “I love my Nagaland “
The winners of the competition were; winner: Shilula T , Government Higher Secondary School Thangjam, Tuensang. 1st runner’s up: Anguvika Kinimi Cannan Christian higher secondary school Mokokchung, 2nd runners up: Ruyivelu Phesao Christian mission Higher secondary school Diphupar, Chumoukedima.
