State Level Science seminar 2026 held in Kohima

DIMAPUR: The Directorate of School Education (DoSE), Nagaland, conducted the State Level Science Seminar 2026 on the theme, “Indian Energy Basket 2047: Prospects and Challenges,” at Morung Hall, DoSE, Kohima on Thursday.
Representing St. John Higher Secondary School Mon, Chemwao P. Konyak emerged as the winner and secured the first position in the state-level competition. Immanuel of St. Peter School, Longsa, Wokha and Ivy Senilo Ngullie of Santsuo School, Wokha secured the second and third positions respectively.
With the victory, Chemwao P. Konyak will go on to represent Nagaland at the National Science Seminar, scheduled to be held in New Delhi on October 30.
The seminar brought together talented young students from across the state, providing a platform to showcase their scientific understanding and perspectives on India’s future energy needs, opportunities and challenges ahead of 2047.
Earlier, Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, Shashank Pratap Singh, graced the opening ceremony as the special guest and encouraged students to develop scientific temper and critical thinking skills through such academic platforms. The programme was compered by Assistant Director, Gloria Ezung, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Joint Director, Sentinenla.
The panel of judges for the seminar comprised Deputy Director, Avino Tase; Assistant Director, Imkongsenla; and Assistant Director, Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, who evaluated the presentations and selected the winners.
The annual seminar aims to promote scientific inquiry, research-oriented thinking and public speaking skills among students while encouraging awareness on contemporary scientific and technological issues of national importance.
