State level Wushu Championship to be held in Kohima from October 28

DIMAPUR, OCT 26 (NPN)

The Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, will host the 1st State Level Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Wushu (Sanda) Championship on October 28 and 29, at the Pele Khezhie Indoor Stadium, Kohima.
A press release from the Nagaland Wushu Allocation stated that the two-day championship aims to promote and strengthen Wushu as a competitive sport in Nagaland, while providing a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and prepare for higher-level competitions.
The inaugural programme on October 28 at 10:00 a.m. will be graced by MLA & Advisor, CAWD and Taxes, Government of Nagaland, Kudecho Khamo, who is also the president of the Nagaland Wushu Association, as the special guest.
President of the Nagaland Olympic Association and Nagaland Taekwondo Association, Pele Khezhie, will attend as the guest of honour. According to the organisers, contingents will line up at 9:00 a.m., followed by the arrival of special guests at 9:40 a.m. The formal inaugural ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m.
Light refreshments will follow the inaugural ceremony, and competitions will commence from 12:00 noon onward.
The championship will feature athletes from across Nagaland competing in Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior categories in the Sanda discipline. More than 130 participants from different district of Nagaland are expected to take part in the championship.
