State logs 192 new cases, 5 Covid deaths

Nagaland saw a slight decline in new Covid cases and fatalities as the state registered 192 fresh cases and five deaths on Friday. Of the fresh cases, Dimapur recorded 61 cases, Tuensang- 47, Kohima-26, Phek-25, Zunheboto-14, five from Peren, four each in Wokha and Mokokchung, three in Longleng, two in Kiphire and one in Mon, taking the total caseload to 21215.

Further, five more patients succumbed to the infection– four from Dimapur and one from Mokokchung. With this, the tally rose to 343 deaths– 331 Covid related and 12 non-Covid but with Covid positivity.

PTI: The single day rise in Covid cases in India fell below the 2-lakh mark for the second time this month, while the recoveries continue to outnumber daily cases for the 15th consecutive day, according Health Ministry. A total of 1,86,364 new coronavirus infections were reported in a day, the lowest in around 44 days, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,75,55,457. The death toll climbed to 3,18,895 with 3,660 daily deaths, the data updated at 8 am showed.
