State NPP welcomes appointment of AK Bhalla as Nagaland Governor

National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland unit, has welcomed the appointment of Ajay Kumar Bhalla as the new Governor of Nagaland.
In a press note, NPP media cell, termed the appointment as a positive development for the State, mentioning that Bhalla’s extensive administrative experience, including his tenure as Union Home Secretary, would contribute meaningfully to governance in Nagaland.
NPP acknowledged that while the appointment follows the untimely demise of Governor La Ganesan, Bhalla’s familiarity with the North Eastern region positions him well to understand and address the unique challenges of the State. According to NPP, Bhalla, who belonged to the Meghalaya cadre of IAS officers and serving as Governor of Manipur, brings with him a deep understanding of the region’s socio-cultural landscape.
NPP, therefore, viewed his appointment as a reflection of the Centre’s recognition of the North East’s aspirations and special requirements. As a party rooted in the North East, NPP reiterated its longstanding emphasis on regionally sensitive leadership and expressed confidence that Bhalla’s tenure would strengthen administrative focus and foster inclusive development in Nagaland. NPP conveyed best wishes to Bhalla and assured full cooperation in pursuit of peace, progress, and empowerment of the people.
