State officials discuss air connectivity with MoCA

DIMAPUR, JUL 22 (NPN)

A delegation from the state transport department led by commissioner & secretary, Robert Longchari, met officials from the ministry of civil aviation in New Delhi on July 21, 2025.
According to a DIPR report, the meet discussed key infrastructure and connectivity issues related to air transport in the state. A detailed meeting was held with Asangba Chuba Ao, joint secretary, ministry of civil aviation (MoCA), and officials from MoCA, DGCA, and the Airports Authority of India. The talks focused on airstrip development, heliport construction, the upgradation of Dimapur Airport, and the expansion of helicopter services under the NSOP Plus scheme.
The state delegation included additional secretary Sentiwapang Aier, officer on special duty (OSD) to the chief minister, Hatpha Wangnoa, OSD transport M. Ababe Ezung, and Nagaland State Transport (NST) deputy general manager, Thomas Kiutsangmong. The meeting involved productive discussions and a shared commitment to improving air connectivity in Nagaland.
