State received average rainfall of 348.6 mm in July

State soil and water conservation (S&WC) department has informed that Nagaland as a whole received an average rainfall of 348.6 mm in the month of July over different stations. In a press release, joint director S&WC and state nodal officer for meteorology Rongsenlemzung stated that the state experienced medium to heavy showers with more than 17 rainy days with thunderstorm and lightning. In the last 31 days as documented by the department from 17 meteorological stations, the department said that the average temperature of the State recorded an average maximum temperature of 27.5ºC, while minimum temperature hovered at 20.6ºC and Relative humidity at 85.3%.


The meteorological observatory at Dimapur recorded the highest maximum temperature with 36.2ºC on July 22 and Zunheboto recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.2ºC on July 3. Highest rainfall of 135.2mm was recorded from Jalukie Observatory on July 23, 2023.
