Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has predicted that Nagaland would experience light rainfall and cloudy moderate rain in almost all the districts till April 24, 2025.
In a press release, Commissioner & Secretary Lhouchalie Viya informed that the showers may be accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places.
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority said Tuensang district may however experience heavy rainfall on April 20 and 21, 2025.
As a result, NSDMA has advised taking necessary measures to avoid lightning strikes and high winds which can disrupt communication and connectivity.
Due to the risk of high precipitation in the hill sector, NSDMA said State’s lowland and foothill districts, including Dimapur, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Bhandari, Baghty, Tizit, and Tuli, are vulnerable to inundated waterlogging and flash floods.
