
A state level committee on People’s Plan Campaign-2021 for preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for the year 2022-23 held a meeting Tuesday at the Secretariat Conference Hall.
A press release by Rural Development (RD) department stated that in the meeting, chief secretary J. Alam said that the idea of the campaign was to come up with a comprehensive plan based on participatory process involving full convergence with schemes of all related line departments.
Reiterating that the programme would be very beneficial for the villages, Alam reminded that consistency and support from all line departments was essential for the success of the campaign and hoped that 2021 would be the best exercise.
The chief secretary also directed all line departments to nominate an officer each to coordinate with the nodal department.
Delivering the introductory address, commissioner & secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo informed that gram panchayats have been mandated for the preparation of GPDP for economic development and social justice. He said panchayats have a significant role to play in the effective and efficient implementation of flagship schemes on subjects of national importance for transformation of rural India. Elaborating on People’s Plan Campaign, Theluo said it was effective strategy for ensuring the preparation of GPDP in a campaign mode which would be rolled out as “Sabki Yajana Sabka Vikas” from October 2, 2021 till January 31, 2022.
During the campaign, he said structured Gram Sabha meetings would be held for preparing the GPDP for the next financial year i.e., 2022-23.
Meanwhile, it has been informed that one day orientation training for line department nodal officers on “People’s Plan Campaign-2021” would be held on September 10, 1 p.m. at RD Conference Hall.
