State water lab gets NABL accreditation

State water quality testing laboratory, under Public Health Engineer-ing Department (PHED) Dimapur, has been assessed and accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in the field of testing.
In a press release, state laboratory, PHED Dimapur, chemist A Rolland Kikon informed that this was the first laboratory in the State to be accredited by NABL in the category of water testing laboratory.
NABL is a constituent board of Quality Council of India (QCI) and NABL is recognized inter-nationally. NABL is also a full signatory of International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC).
The state laboratory, PHED has been designated as referral laboratory for confirmatory test of results conducted at PHED laboratories in the other districts of Nagaland. Besides this state la-boratory, every district has well established and functional district laboratories, which are open to public, are also in the process of NABL accreditation.
State laboratory, located at Supply Colony, Dimapur is open to public. Any individual wishing to test water quality could avail the facility.
