The Centre has asked all states and Union Territories to furnish details of contractors, inspection agencies and officials penalised or blacklisted under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation directed chief secretaries to submit reports on recoveries, FIRs, and disciplinary actions for irregularities. States were also told to verify data on delays and substandard work. The directive follows a top-level review amid discussions to extend the JJM deadline to 2028.
