State’s weekly Covid sample positivity rate drops to 1%

After a consistent decline in Covid-19 positive cases for the past two weeks, Nagaland’s weekly sample positivity rate dropped to 1% during the week (February 26 to March 4).
According to the weekly bulletin report released by the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department, the sample positivity rate has remained below 5% for the last two weeks.
During the week, seven districts recorded 0% WSPR while Mokokchung recorded the highest at 3.1% followed by Wokha-1.5%, Kohima-1.1% and Dimapur-1%. It also informed that the month of February recorded 1,003 cases against 2,203 new cases in January 2022.
Out of 2138 samples collected during the week, 22 tested positive for Covid-19 and three Covid-19 deaths (Dimapur-2, Kohima-1) were reported from the week, H&FW said.
All three deceased had associated comorbidities while only one was found to be fully vaccinated, it said.
The department therefore reminded once again that vaccination of high-risk groups remain the most important preventive measure against hospitalization or death.
State logs 2 fresh cases: Nagaland on Saturday recorded two fresh Covid-19 positive cases while no deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Kohima and Wokha reported one case each, taking the total caseload to 35419.
