Sümi Totimi Hoho (STH) held its 28th general conference on Friday at Town Hall, Zunheboto under the theme “women rise up against all ills” with secretary land resources Kikheto Y Sema, (IAS) as chief guest and SASRD, Medziphema, department of horticulture, Professor Dr. Akali Sema as main speaker.
At the programme, the chief guest encouraged the Sümi women to be prayerful and courageous saying it depends upon a mother to determine what her child grows up to become.
He further encouraged them to be strong willed women of integrity, stating that the Sümi women were strong enough to lead an honourable life in the midst of men folk with or without 33% reservation.
Speaker, Dr. Akali Sema while speaking on the theme said that women were the best creation of God and the best blessing to mankind.
Pointing corruption and discrimination as the two worst ills in the society, she lamented that corruption has reached its zenith in Nagaland.
She also voiced that people should do away with favouritism, bribery, disloyalty, dishonesty which counter invites bandhs, agitation, ultimatum and dharnas, paralysing the normal lives of everyone.
Akali encouraged the gathering to make “Nagaland for Christ” a better place to live in. Furthermore, she encouraged the government servants to cultivate an honest work culture.
She said “work is worship” should not just be a saying but must be implemented practically in daily lives.
The gathering was also exhorted by vice president Khehoshe Yeptho and Zunheboto Town GB chairman Jehovi Zhimomi. The gathering was enthralled with choreography by Sunday school children of Kawoto village, thishole by STH Kiphire, welcome song by STH Zunheboto. HSLC and HSSLC toppers and successful NPSC and UPSC candidates were also felicitated in the programme.
