A six-day Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) on the topic, “goat rearing and management” for 16 trainees is being held at the training hall of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tuensang.
A press release by KVK Tuensang informed that the training was being organised by the office of the senior scientist and head KVK Tuensang under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and State Agricultural Management and Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland.
The main objective of the training was to offer modular skill training opportunities to rural youths including farmers on local needs, and create a pool of skilled manpower to perform farm and non-farm operations.
At the inaugural day, delivering the keynote address, course director, Dr.Temjennungsang said that the programme was aimed to impart skill-based training to rural youth on agri-based vocational areas in compliance with National Policy Skill Development & Entrepreneurship -2015 in agriculture and allied areas to promote employment in rural areas.
The inaugural programme was chaired by course co-ordinator, Sangmaichila while farm manager, Yanger I Kichu delivered the vote of thanks.
