Students enlightened on Commonwealth scholarships

A session on the application and selection process for Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships was conducted by John Paulraj for the students of Tetso College in the college premises, Sovima on October 21.

A press release from Tetso College stated that, Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships were both UK government scholarship programmes aimed at creating and moulding global leaders and citizens which offer full scholarship for master’s degrees to study in the UK. In the session which was held specifically for post-graduate students of the college, Paulraj gave a detailed presentation such as step by step instructions for applying and the benefits provided under the two scholarships. He also shared from his own personal experience on how he applied for the scholarship to complete his post-graduate studies.
Encouraging the students to research on their core area of interests to study, Paulraj not only provided pointers by chalking out a plan for them to utilize but also emphasized on the importance of systematizing and prioritizing their time. He reminded the students on the value of three ‘Ps’ – passion, perseverance, and perspiration, which was instrumental for anyone to achieve something. A mock interview was held which witnessed the resource person interviewing students as would be in real-life when applying for scholarships.
Meanwhile, the college extended gratitude to the resource person for enlightening the students about the application procedure.
