Students enlightened on ‘travel and tourism’

A seminar on “travel and tourism” with special reference to vocational subjects in school was organised for students on Wednesday at Mayangnokcha Higher Secondary School (MGHSS) under the theme “Inspiring young hearts”, a special presentation by the “Hills Heart Group”.
Resource persons for the seminar were zonal manager of Vodafone India, Guwahati, Saurav Barua; director, Parth Degital Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai Sanjeev Basak; director Neo Glass Tiles Mumbai, Nishit Barad and Founder, Detour Company Amit Panariya.
Addressing the students’, resource person Amit Panariya said a person willing to take up tourism as a career should possess passion for travelling and experiencing the “unique features” of the world.
On eco-tourism, he said “if you are one to appreciate nature, discover its secrets, and experience its beauty and live through travel.”
Saurav Barua while informing the students that information and technology was part and parcel of life added that knowledge of the same should be nurtured from the tender age.
He encouraged the students to be inquisitive and posses a curious mind and identify their passion so as to pursue a career with satisfaction. 
The resource person also advised the students to use internet judiciously. 
Speaking on the topic “entrepreneurship”, resource person Parth said an entrepreneur is one who develop an idea, work towards it and make it a success by utilizing multiple resources around. He also termed education as a vital tool in the competitive world.
Another resource person Nishit Barad cautioned that facing failures are part of entrepreneurship but taking corrective measures and making it successful requires strong determination.
The seminar was moderated by Talipokum and the welcome note was delivered by MGHSS principal, Arenla.
