
During the inaugural programme of the 3-day Chuchuyimlang Students’ Union, the 1st triennial conference was held on Thursday, under the theme “in step with the changing times”, with minister of National Highways, Mechanical Engg. & Election, Nuklutoshi as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Nuklutoshi said, to be the future of the world “every student must be a responsible citizen, upholding the revered principles of our forefathers which is hard work, honesty and self-dependence”. He said, one should be independent and bold to succeed in this competitive world, where only the best amongst the best could lead a progressive life. Then, “you will be an asset to the society”, he added. The chief guest pointed out that Nagaland would not have so many registered unemployed youth (more than 80 thousand) if they learnt the art of self-dependence.
At the same time, Nuklutoshi urged student community attending the conference to extract the knowledge and wisdom from renowned resource persons and by actually practising those teachings. The key speaker of the inaugural session was rtd director Bendangyanger, on the theme topic “In step with the changing times”. The Bendang Alir Chuchuyimlang Senso Union Academic Excellence Award was accorded to Arenjungla by Dr. L Temsu, who topped 16th position in the HSLC examination 2016.
The purpose of the triennial conference was highlighted by deputy mission director, SSA, Tali Jamir and exhorted by Chuchuyimlang Village Council secretary Tsukjemtangit. While CBC pastor T Limashared the word of God and invocation, the benedictory prayer was said by deacon Imtisosang. The conference office bearers are convenor, advocate Tongpokba, general secretary Dr. Aolemla and information, publicity & statistic secretary, advocate Temjenmoa.
