Students sensitised on importance of oral health

DIMAPUR: As part of “Oral Health Month 2022”, National Oral Health Programme, Kiphire observed “World Oral Health Day” at Saramati View Modern School on Monday.
In a press release, district media officer, CMO Office, Haichikambe Pame informed that senior dental surgeon, District Hospital Kiphire, Dr. N Moagangba Jamir, highlighted the importance of oral health care and dental hygiene.
He informed the students that gum disease could increase risk of serious health problems.
Dr. Moagangba also stressed on the ill effects of consuming tobacco products, smoking and chewing gutkha.
Altogether, 650 students attended the programme during which students took anti-tobacco pledge and oral health care.
The release informed that a video explaining about oral health care and menace of tobacco was also shown to the students.
