Mangkolemba Town Students’ Union (MTSU) conducted a surprise checking of all shops under its jurisdiction on November 2.
A press release from MTSU president, Toshiyanger Longshir stated that the checking was carried out with the help of Mangkolemba Town Lanur Telongjem (MALT), as directed by Mangkolemba Town Council (MTC), in the presence of Kedale Sebu, EAC, Mangkolemba.
The intent was to apprehend shopkeepers who were selling expired goods and tobacco products. During the checking some expired cold drinks, flour, cosmetics and tobacco products such as ‘talab’ were seized from some shops. The erring shopkeepers have been warned that henceforth if they are caught in future, their shop licenses will be confiscated.
