The 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose was celebrated in Dimapur by various organizations on January 23. Following are reports of two events as reported by Chatteeswari Durgabari and Netaji Subash Kala Kendra in separate press releases.
Procession to mark Bose’s birth anniversary: The anniversary was celebrated with a morning procession, followed by a meeting, on January 23 in Dimapur.
A press release from Chatteeswari Durgabari secretary, Biplab Paul stated that more than 200 persons, in the age group of 4 to 70, enthusiastically joined the procession. Hindu Seva Samiti, Bengali Youth Generation, Dimapur Bengali Student Union, Westyard Durgabari, United Youth Association extended full cooperation to organizers of the procession Chatteswary Durgabari.
The procession started from Chatteswari Durgabari making a round to Westyard Colony, Kalibari road, G.S road, Hokishe Sema road, Lhomthi Colony, Sematila Colony and passing through Xuvihe Colony, and ended at Chatteswari Durgabari.
Also, a cultural bonanza will be held at Chatteeswari Durgabari on January 26, 5 pm.
NSKK: Netaji Subash Kala Kendra (NSKK), Railway Colony, Dimapur, observed the event on January 23.
A press release issued by principal/convener Netaji Subash Kala Kendra, Sushanta Bhattacharjee stated that president of Dimapur Bengali Samaj, Kamala Kanta Paul was chief guest of the celebration, and advocate & notary, Yogendar Prasad Gupta and Anjali Roy were the guests of honour.
The guests delivered short speeches about the life and times of Netaji Subash Bose and his First Azad Hind Fauj Government. They opined that the time had come to unite, especially for the youth and children, to follow in the path of Netaji. The celebration was interspersed with songs in honour of Netaji by artist Debashree Dey, Ritika Chakraborty, Eshita Dey, Riya Dey, Sucharita Mahajan & Souvik Kar along with other participants from Dimapur.
In connection with the 75th years of The First Azad Hind Fauj Government and 122nd birth Anniversary, the Netaji Subash Kala Kendra will organize an art & painting competition on February 3 from 10 am onwards at NSKK premises, Railway Colony, Dimapur in two groups of Class 1 to Class 4 and Class 5 to Class 8.
