Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a tense four-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their IPL clash on Sunday, thanks to Sai Sudharsan’s composed half-century and incisive spells from their pace attack.
Chasing 164 on a sluggish surface, GT relied on Sudharsan’s 41-ball 57 to anchor the innings. Despite losing skipper Shubman Gill early to Arshdeep Singh, Sudharsan steadied the chase with Jos Buttler, adding 53 runs for the second wicket. Buttler (25) played aggressively, striking two sixes, but fell to Vyshak Vijayakumar. Sudharsan, undeterred, reached his third fifty of the season off 37 balls before being caught on the ropes. His dismissal, followed by Rahul Tewatia’s exit, left GT needing 11 runs off the final over. Washington Sundar (40 not out off 23 balls) held his nerve, sealing victory with a scooped six off Marcus Stoinis.
Earlier, PBKS posted 163 for nine, largely due to debutant Suryansh Shedge’s spirited 57. The right-hander rescued his side from 47 for five, adding 79 runs with Stoinis (40). Shedge’s highlight came in the 14th over, where he plundered 26 runs off Manav Suthar, racing to his fifty in just 24 balls. However, his dismissal to Kagiso Rabada (2/22) halted PBKS’s momentum.
GT’s pacers had set the tone early. Mohammed Siraj (2/28) struck in the first over, removing Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly off successive deliveries. Rabada followed with raw pace to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh, while Jason Holder (4/24) dismantled the middle order, sending Nehal Wadhera and skipper Shreyas Iyer back cheaply. PBKS’s innings briefly revived through Shedge and Stoinis, but late blows from Marco Jansen off Rashid Khan only pushed them past 160. The contest became a battle of half-centurions—Shedge’s debut brilliance versus Sudharsan’s calm chase. Ultimately, Sudharsan’s composure and Sundar’s finishing touch ensured GT’s points tally rose to 12, keeping them fifth on the table. PBKS, despite the loss, retained their top spot with 13 points.
Brief Score:
PBKS: 162 for 9 in 20 overs (Suryansh Shedge 57; Jason Holder 4/24).
GT: 167 for 9 in 19.5 overs (Sai Sudharsan 57; Arshdeep Singh 2/24, Vijaykumar Vyshak 2/31).
Raghuvanshi, spinners fire KKR to 7-wkt win over SRH
The promising Angkrish Raghuvanshi (59) made a well-paced fifty as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in their IPL match here on Sunday.
Skipper Ajinkya Rahane (43) and Raghuvanshi added 84 runs for the second wicket as KKR overhauled SRH’s under-par 165 all out with ease.
Finn Allen made an aggressive 29 off 13 balls upfront to give KKR a brisk start. Earlier, Travis Head made a belligerent 61 off 28 balls but KKR’s spinners bowled well to restrict SRH to 165.
Mystery spinners Varun Chakravarthy (3/36) and Sunil Narine (2/31) wrecked SRH middle-order with controlled spells.
Along the way of his two-wicket burst in his fourth-over, Narine also completed 200 IPL wickets. The spinner was the third bowler to achieve the feat after Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Ishan Kishan made 42 off 29 balls.

Kolkata Knight Riders: 169/3 in 18.2 overs (Angkrish Raghuvanshi 59, Ajinkya Rahane 43).
