In view of World Suicidal Prevention Day under the theme, “Creating Hope Through Action” Carl Rogers Institute Of Mental Health and School Counselling in collaboration with the renowned Naga comedian, Aseno Ayemi conducted a live Instagram and presented global issue “Suicide” on Sunday.
During the live session, Ayemi shared her views and her personal experiences about her journey to becoming famous and how words from people who are unsupportive of her work had an adverse effect on her personal life.
She said people need to think twice before they speak anything ill about someone else because they don’t know how such a behaviour could affect that person.
During the live, chairman CRIMHSC, Kezhazolie Cornelius Mere, executive member CRIMHSC, Vetalu Nyekha and resource person, CRIMHSC, Anupam Talwar Kohli, all shared their professional views on the current mental health status and how the society views suicide as a disgrace and still reluctant to speak up.
They also urged on the need to spread more awareness in order to break certain stigmas that exists within the society at large. The live event saw the participation of around 4899 individuals joining in and being part during the duration.
The live session concluded with giving guidance about where to seek help when in need and encouraged the people to start normalising mental health.
