Sukhalu promises incentives for toppers

Advisor for school education, Nagaland K.T. Sukhalu said that his department would find a way to give all state toppers, for next year’s HSLC and HSSLC examinations, financial incentives or some other form of encouragement.
He was speaking as the special guest at a felicitation programme on June 2, organized by SD Jain Higher Secondary School (SDJHSS) Dimapur, for the five HSLC & HSSLC Examination 2018 state toppers from the school. The programme was held at the school auditorium.
According to a press release from the school principal, Reji Abraham, in his address, Sukhalu congratulated all the toppers for their meritorious achievement. 
He congratulated the school authorities, particularly the school managing committee for their self sacrifice and dedication to imparting the best education possible. 
Lamenting the results produced by the government schools, he said that the government school results in the board examination had been continuously poor though the department has highly qualified teachers.
He called upon the youth of Nagaland to undergo professional training before seeking teaching jobs.
The untrained teachers in the department will lose their jobs if they are not trained by March 2019 as per the directives of the HRD ministry, he added.
Sukhhalu also encouraged students to study not just for the sake of studying but to become something in future.
HSLC 4th Rank holder Anjali Kumari and 6th Rank holder Kamal Basumatary were awarded Rs. 50000 cash. 16th Rank Holder Rohan Biswas was given Rs. 5000 cash and a scholarship worth Rs. 37000. They were also given mementos, citation certificates and a sony tablets.
HSSLC Commerce Stream 2nd Rank Holder Reha Das and Science Stream 10th Rank holder Sohail Khan were awarded Rs.10000 cash, citation certificates and mementos.
Jain Samaj president Om Praksh Sethi, expressed his happiness for the result produced by the school.
Secretary School Managing committee, Ajay Sethi, who also spoke on the occasion, congratulated the rank holder students and their parents for their achievement.
Earlier, a welcome address was delivered by school principal, Reji Abraham and later vote of thanks was delivered by vice principal K.D. Dixit.
