The Sumi Totimi Loka (STL) Chümoukedima celebrated its Silver Jubilee (2000–2025) on October 26, marking twenty-five years of service, empowerment, and commitment to community development under the theme “Value of Women in a Progressive Era.”
Gracing the occasion as guest speaker, Khesheli Chishi, Special Judge, FTSC Dimapur, highlighted the evolving role of women in modern society, stating that customs and traditional laws have gradually transformed to recognize and uphold women’s rights and significance. She remarked that the true value of a woman lies in her wisdom—one that is selfless, seeks the welfare of others, and has the power to heal and transform brokenness within families and society. She added that such wisdom is rooted in purity, impartiality, and a deep love for peace.
Delivering the Jubilee greetings, Hokali Chishi, President of the Western Sumi Totimi Hoho (WSTH), stressed the importance of gender equality and encouraged women to come forward and take up leadership roles at higher levels of responsibility.
During the celebration, founding members and past and present leaders of STL Chümoukedima were honoured by the Jubilee Planning Board led by Hokali Zhimo, Convener. A special prayer of blessing for them was pronounced by Benjamin Sema, Pastor, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Chümoukedima (SBAC). Reflecting on the Union’s journey of endurance and dedication, Isali N. Zhimo, the first President of STL Chümoukedima, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all members who had contributed over the years.
Earlier, the celebration began with the inauguration of the Jubilee Monolith by Lily Himato Assumi, President of STL Chümoukedima, symbolizing the enduring legacy of the Union. The inaugural programme was chaired by Ghonito Achumi, Chairman, Sumi Council Chümoukedima.
