Nagaland-based federating units of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) comprising Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), Lotha Students’ Union (LSU), All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK), Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) along with Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN), which is a subordinate body of NSF, have reiterated their support to the resolution adopted at the NSF Emergency Presidential Council Meeting held on April 11, 2022 to recommend to the State government to maintain status quo on the issue of superannuation age of doctors in the State.
In a joint statement, the student bodies clarified that the claim made by NIDA at a recent press conference that some units of NSF supported its demand despite not coming out publicly was completely misleading and did not have any basis whatsoever.
They further mentioned that there was no objection raised by any of the units when the resolution in question was adopted during the meeting and hence were compelled to publicly reaffirm the same due to such malicious claims.
They said they were saddened by the unfortunate development within NSF family wherein Angami Students’ Union had declared “non-cooperation” towards the incumbent NSF team. They appealed to the ASU leadership to reconsider the decision in the larger interest of Naga people as the differences could be worked out collectively.
The joint statement was signed by Avezo Kevin Kapu, Katho Awomi, Nungdokyanger Ao, Ashanthung Humtsoe, Heiko Kent, Moayanger Jamir and Aakam Pame, presidents of CSU, SKK, AKM, LSU, RSU, DNSU and ZSUN respectively.
