Supongmeren calls for better CSS implementation

Lok Sabha MP and chairperson of the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA), S. Supongmeren Jamir, has called for the effective implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) so that development benefits reach the grassroots level.
According to DIPR report, addressing the first DISHA meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Peren, on Wednesday, Supongmeren reviewed progress of various CSS and development projects in the district. He emphasized mobilizing unreleased Central funds and assured efforts to bring in additional resources.
Highlighting DISHA as a vital platform to tackle developmental challenges, he urged officials to take ownership of responsibilities. He also proposed introducing inter-district DISHA performance competitions and suggested inviting lead banks and Village Councils to future meetings for better economic planning and community engagement.
Supongmeren interacted with department officials, assured that genuine grievances would be taken up at appropriate levels, and stressed inclusive and accountable development.
ADC Peren, D. Robin, welcomed the chairperson and his team on behalf of the district administration and DISHA members. PowerPoint presentations were delivered by various departments including PHED, Social Welfare, and RD, showcasing achievements, challenges and focus areas.
The meeting ended with a collective call for stronger coordination among stakeholders.
Phek DISHA meeting
Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, has informed that the DISHA meeting for Phek district will be held on July 15 at 11 AM at the DC’s Conference Hall. All line departments implementing schemes under various Ministries have been requested to attend with their updated implementation reports.
