Supongmeren chairs DISHA meeting in Tseminyu

DIMAPUR: Tseminyu District Development Co ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held its meeting on June 29 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Tseminyu, with Lok Sabha MP and DISHA chairman, S. Supongmeren Jamir, ex MLA and State DISHA member, Medokul Sophie, and chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Ar. Jwenga Seb.
Addressing the meeting, Supongmeren said the purpose was not to target individuals but to freely discuss departmental development activities, share successes and challenges, and strengthen implementation of schemes and projects in the district.
Presentations were made by Sentimengla Pongener (DPO), Social Welfare Department; Dr. Kenalo Kath (CVO), Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services; and a representative from the Agriculture Department. The programme was chaired by DC Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, while the welcome address was delivered by Ar. Jwenga Seb.
The meeting was followed by the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting, which reviewed the previous minutes and discussed the proposal for establishing a Rengma Cultural Complex at Khwenphen, submitted by the Semkash Women Society. The board agreed to recommend the matter to the government for consideration.
The DPDB also examined the application for grant in aid for Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu. Observing the school’s consistent good results, the board decided to forward the proposal for government support as reflected in the SDEO’s report.
The meeting concluded with words of gratitude from DC Japheth Woch.
