SVC flays raid on NSCN (R) kilonser’s residence

DIMAPUR: Sapotimi village council (SVC) has condemned the NSCN-K (Khango) vice president Khekato Kinny’s alleged “heinous criminal act” of raiding the residence of its villager and NSCN (Reformation) finance kilonser Mughato Chophy on May 23, at 11pm with an alleged “intention to kill.”
In a press release, SVC chairman Khekuto Chophy stated that “an attempt to kill such calm and peace loving person” while he was sleeping with his family was “a condemnable act as per the Sumi customary law”.
SVC cautioned that in future any damage or loss of life of Mughato Chophy or any of his family members would solely be responsible by Khekato Kinny.
The council maintained that there were various underground factions, but each faction “maintains peace and brotherhood relationship among the factions.”
However, SVC said that “such act” of Khekato Kinny, “attempting to kill own Naga brother” reminded Nagas of the early 1990s period of killings and bloodshed among the Naga brothers, which it said should be condemned by all.
