SVC, UVC laud government for taking up road construction

Sovima Village Council (SVC) and Unity Village Councils (UVC) at a coordination meeting held at Sovima Village Council Hall on Saturday expressed appreciation to the state government for taking up construction of the road from JCB Showroom leading to Army By-pass Road via Tetso College.

In a joint resolution signed by SVC chairman Sebastian Zumvu, Sovima head GB Thepfukeduo Kuotsu, SVC secretary Ruokuosilie Rpreo, UVC chairman Hetoka Awomi, Unity village head GB, Y. Shihovi Sema and UVC secretary I. Abenjang, stated that the two councils have resolved to direct the property owners on both sides of the road to make available sufficient space for two-lane black-topping as well as provisions for drainage and other public utilities.

SVC and UVC have also resolved to set up a verification/identification committee consisting of members from both the villages.

Further, in consultation with the engineers of the department or the contractors, the two councils would visit the stretch in the next 48 hours so the works initiated by the contractors were not hampered/delayed. The committee would also identify areas that needed to be widened. The two councils have also resolved to organise regular interactions and get-togethers once every three years.
