SVSU backs NL-RMSA 2016 batch in pay dispute

DIMAPUR

The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has publicly declared its support for the NL-RMSA Batch of 2016, joining the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) in demanding immediate implementation of the Supreme Court’s ruling on scale pay and the release of pending salaries. In a press release issued on Monday, SVSU expressed concern over the prolonged delay in executing the court’s directive, noting that the affected teachers have not received their rightful scale pay for over three months and have gone without salaries for five months. The union described the situation as a “grave injustice” and emphasized the detrimental impact on both educators and students. “Teachers are the torchbearers of society,” the statement read, underscoring the moral and legal obligation to honor their service. SVSU called on the Government of Nagaland to act swiftly, stating that justice denied to teachers is justice denied to all. The union reaffirmed its unwavering support for the NL-RMSA 2016 batch and urged student bodies, communities, and concerned citizens to unite in advocating for fair treatment of educators. Their resilience, SVSU noted, serves as an inspiration in the face of adversity.
