Seyochung Village Students Union (SVSU) in a letter to Principal Director, Department of School Education, requested for retention of teacher at Government High School, Seyochung Village.
In a letter SVSU president, Longtili Sangtam, and general secretary, Tsise, said Thripongchum Sangtam was transferred to GMS Seyochung Village on February 28,2024 but even before completion of one year, he was transferred to another GMS on February 6, 2025.
The union highlighted that the abrupt transfer had disrupted academic environment of the school, as teacher’s experience and teaching skills were positively contributing to the student’s education.
Noting that there was shortage of experienced teachers in the village, SVSU has therefore appealed to the DoSE to reconsider the transfer and retain Thripongchum.
