
Department of Social Welfare (SW) under the aegis of the Dimapur (U) Project, kicked off the month long observation of “Poshan Abhiyan” from September 1 to 30 with a formal function at Supply Colony AWC, Dimapur.
A press release from Social Welfare department Dimapur stated that the importance of nutrition in the overall development of a child, especially in the first 1000 days of the child’s life, was explained by guest speaker Zuthunglo Odyuo, clinical dietician of Nagaland Multispeciality Health and Research Centre (NMHRC) Midland.
Importance of nutrition vis-à-vis, pregnant and nursing mothers, adolescent girls was also discussed. The program was attended by the mothers’ group of Supply Colony, beneficiaries and staff of Dimapur ICDS (U) project, led by CDPO.
