As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata campaign under the theme “Swatantrata Ka Utsav, Swachhata Ke Sang” (August 8–15), the PHED Rural Division Dimapur organised a Swachhata Dialogue & Awareness Day at Dhansiripar Village on August 13, 2025.
The programme, chaired by Parkash Longmailai, Watsan chairman of Dhansiripar Village, aimed to promote cleanliness through practical demonstrations on waste segregation, composting, and toilet maintenance.
Special guest Vejoyo Swuro, SDO (C), Dhansiripar, in his address, emphasized the link between hygiene, public health, and community well-being. “Charity begins at home, and so does cleanliness,” he reminded the gathering, urging households to begin with their kitchens and surroundings. He stressed that cleanliness must be a sustained practice, not a one-time effort.
Executive Engineer Er. Nirie-e Nisa shared her vision of transforming Dhansiripar into a clean model village and encouraged collective efforts toward that goal. A hands-on demonstration was conducted by Junior Engineer Er. Hotolu Sumi, covering essential techniques in waste management and sanitation.
To further engage the community, a Swachhata-themed selfie booth was set up to promote the campaign’s message. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Joybolal Khembrai, Council chairman, Dhansiripar Village.
The programme witnessed active participation from village council members, women leaders, and students, reinforcing the spirit of grassroots action for a cleaner and healthier future.
