Social Welfare Department bids farewell

Social Welfare Department (SWD) organized a farewell programme in honour of Martha R. Ritse, who retired as Commissioner and Secretary on April 1.


Olemjungla, Joint Secretary, Social Welfare Department shared a brief profile of Ritse’s career as an NCS officer, which began in 1991 and was inducted in the IAS Nagaland Cadre in 2002, and retired on March 31, 2025.

Speaking on the occasion, advisor, Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak congratulated Ritse and thanked for her dedicated services to the Government of Nagaland till superannuation. Short speeches were delivered by Alun Hangsing, chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, W. Nginyeih Konyak, chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Women, Tosheli Zhimomi, director, Social Welfare, and Bodeno S. Colo, Secretary, Social Welfare.

Martha R. Ritse, in her farewell speech thanked all the department officials and staff for their cooperation, support and encouragement over the years, and urged them to continue giving their dedicated services to reach out to the grassroots.
