SWM opened at Zapami vill

Solid Waste Management (SWM) was officially inaugurated by director WSSO, PHED Er. K.G Sumi at Zapami village, Phek district.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Er. Sumi said “Clean Nagaland” would be a part of the tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019. He also said Swachh Bharat Mission which was launched by prime minister of India Narendra Modi at Rajpath, New Delhi on October 2, 2014 has begun throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement.
Sumi assured the villagers that department would look forward for better development as demanded. He also said the villagers should continue total sanitation as the village was awarded Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) in the year 2009. Short speeches were also delivered by brand ambassador Phek Vizopal Chaya, ex-MLA and brand ambassador, Mokokchung and Mon and ex-MLA and brand ambassador, Tuensang T. Khongo. Er.K.G Sumi, Er. A. Kent, Er.T.Imtiakum and officials along with village leaders visited all five SWMs in different colonies
The program was chaired by chairman WATSAN committee Kedou Wetsah, invocation prayer by pastor ZBC Yiekhro-ü Kenye, welcome address was delivered by VCC Zapami Kedounyi Khutso, special number was presented by Kuzha cultural society, vote of thanks was said by secretary VDB Er. Lhiwepe khutsoh while benediction was pronounced by women pastor ZBC by Dilhi-ü Kreo.
