SXCC Kidima observes ‘All Souls Day 2020’

Along with the rest of the world, St Xavier Catholic Church (SXCC) Kidima observed “All Souls Day” with parish priest Rev. Fr. Siby John at the church premises on November 2.

A press release by SXCC Kidima stated that, Rev. Fr. Siby John in the homily quoted Jesus “I am (Jesus) the resurrection and the life”. He said that Catholics believed in heaven, purgatory and hell, where those already in heaven need not require prayers from the people, but, they would pray for the living people. 

He also said that the souls in purgatory were in the stage of purification, where they would be cleansed through the prayers of the people on earth. He also said that it was the Christian duty to pray even for souls in hell as that can only be decided by Christ.

Intersection of Mother Mary, Eucharist celebration, special prayer was offered for the departed souls, followed by blessing of the tomb.
