T.R. Zeliang extends Christmas greetings

Leader of Opposition (LoP) TR Zeliang has wished all the citizens of Nagaland a blessed and meaningful Christmas and a prosperous happy New Year 2021.

In his message, Zeliang called upon all to forgive each other this Christmas season and let love, reconciliation and brotherhood be the symbol of “our Christmas celebration.” As Nagas prepare to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ and to enter a new year, the former chief minister expressed hope that great peace, prosperity and victory would be upon “all of us” in every sphere of life. He also prayed that this Christmas would be an occasion for the Naga people to unite.

“As Christians, we all take profound pleasure in celebrating the birth and glory of our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. Christmas season is a nostalgic time of joy, peace and happiness as it reminds us of the great love of our Lord,” he said

As Nagas wait for conclusion of the “Indo-Naga” political issue, Zeliang called upon the Nagas to continue to pray for the Lord’s sanction to work out everything in the best way possible.

Pointing out that the year 2020 had witnessed unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19 pandemic, he said this year’s Christmas celebration “may be unlike any we have ever experienced”. Zeliang, however, maintained that hard times have a way of bringing out the best in people. “And this Christmas season, I earnestly hope and pray that the promise of peace and hope for the future that comes with Christmas be ignited in everyone,” he said.
