TABC discusses action plan for Tseminyu

Tseminyu aspirational block committee (TABC) held a meeting on August 3 in the conference hall of the DPDB, Kohima to discuss on preparation of its five-year action plan for the selected block. 

According to a DIPR report, deputy commissioner Kohima & chairman of the committee, Gregory Thejawelie informed the members that the Government had notified Tseminyu block under Kohima district along with other nine blocks spread over the districts as aspirational blocks.

He said that as per the government’s direction, the district aspirational block committee was constituted with DC as chairman and DPO (planning) as member secretary along with other 22 officers from various departments as members.

Discussing on the preparation of the action plan, the meeting deliberated on various implementing programmes under centrally sponsored scheme and other programmes undertaken by the departments.

In this regard, the members shared their views and suggestions for preparation of the action plan. The meeting decided to work out departmental-wise action plan based on implementing programmes including schemes under CSS to be incorporated and to submit it on or before August 20.

In this connection, DC asked departmental officers to have required consultation with ADC Tseminyu and respective sub-divisional officers while preparing the action plan and to submit it within the time framed.

He said that with the action plan submitted by each departments, the committee would prepare the final action plan for the selected aspirational block depending on its potential and requirements. 

In his brief note, ADC Tseminyu W. Manpai Phom on Tseminyu Aspirational Block, stated that Tseminyu block, with 26 villages, was one among the seven blocks under Kohima district.

As per the 2011 census, Tseminyu has a total population of 51314, including a sex ratio of 1022 as against the state average of 931, and a healthy literacy rate of 81.71% as against the state average of 79.55%.

The meeting also highlighted the potentiality of the block, infrastructure needs, increasing income of people in the block, trade/sector requirement capacity buildings and also on the present condition of various sectors in the block.
