A Table Top Exercise cum preparatory meeting was conducted at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Tuensang on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa. The meeting aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and inter-agency coordination in the district.
According to a DIPR report, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team from Itanagar delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation to members of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and representatives from the Fire Services, Medical Department, and Police Department. The presentation focused on strategic planning and readiness measures that various stakeholders should adopt to effectively respond to natural and man-made disasters.
The primary objective of the exercise was to equip government departments and NGOs with the knowledge and coordination mechanisms necessary to minimize casualties during emergencies.
The session facilitated open discussions and interactive exchanges between the NDRF and DDMA Tuensang, allowing participants to share insights and refine their preparedness strategies.
The meeting underscored the importance of proactive planning, timely response, and collaborative efforts to safeguard lives and property in the face of potential adversities in Tuensang district.
