With a vision to highlight the talents of Nagaland from all parts of the state, the government on Tuesday unveiled two events, The Voice of Nagaland and Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA) Excellence Awards. Both of the events are initiatives of TaFMA and Investments and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN).
Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman IDAN, Abu Metha in a press conference on Tuesady, mentioned that TaFMA has partnered with 21 different institutions and corporate houses through which the state’s artists are availed with platform in foreign locations and gaining helpful career, performing in various resorts and hotels in different parts of the country.
He informed that TaFMA has also partnered with 6 embassies of foreign government in India which includes Israel, USA, UK, Italy, Columbia and Latvia and this partnership has created opportunities and benefited the youth and that musicians and artist from Nagaland have become the ambassadors of Naga people and of the state..
Metha in the conference mentioned that the voice of Nagaland is open to Solo Artist /Duos/ bands, vocal groups, choirs, all music genre, all language including local dialects, Hindi and Nagamese. The top prize will be given by the Toyota (Toyota Car), while the details of other prizes would be shared later.
TaFMA excellence award is an initiative to award youth who are pursuing and achieving excellence in their respective fields at National and international levels. The ultimate winner will also be awarded with Toyota car sponsored by Toyota.
Metha highlighted that they are also partnering with five festivals not only in India but also abroad. He had also informed that Toyota will also be partnering with them for the Hornbill Music festival 2023. Besides top band from Nagaland, participants from USA, Ireland, Colombia and Israel will also be taking part.
He applauded the Toyota for giving opportunities to the youth in mechanical engineering in the service sector, taking initiative in the green initiative and ecological sector etc. stating that this sponsorship is a direct initiative to nation building and hoped that they stand as an example to other companies to come forward with such opportunities and ideas.
Metha also thanked the IDAN team for their effort and making this event possible. TaFMA director Theja Meru highlighted that the registration for the voice of Nagaland will start by September and all the rules and regulations and updates will be uploaded on their website and social media. They had also informed that the Chief Minister will give away the awards. CEO Okusa Toyota Hokugha Yeptho also thanked TaFMA for letting them be a part of the prestigious festival.
