TaFMA to establish IPRS IP Hub in Nagaland

Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) in partnership with Indian Performance Rights Society (IPRS) will be setting up the IPRS IP Hub soon in Nagaland, bringing copyright awareness, royalty support, and hands-on guidance on metadata management closer to music creators and independent artists, right where they create.
The initiative is part of a grassroots effort to strengthen India’s music creator ecosystem by making copyright knowledge, royalty mechanisms, metadata management, and industry support more accessible at the regional level.
According to TaFMA, the IP Hub will serve as a dedicated support centre for authors, composers, publishers, and independent music creators. It will provide hands-on guidance on copyright, royalties, IPRS membership, work registration, metadata, and documentation, through trained personnel and resources developed by IPRS and shared in regional languages. “Whether you are just starting your creative journey or have been making music for years, the IP Hub is here to help music creators navigate the system with confidence,” TaFMA stated.
Beyond support service, the Hub will also function as a community space, hosting mentoring sessions, creative conversations, and knowledge-sharing forums that enable creators to connect, learn from one another, and grow collectively. Most importantly, it will serve as a bridge between creators and IPRS, ensuring that artists’ voices, concerns, and music are heard and supported.
