A nine-day Art Residency organised by Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) in collaboration with Art for Change Foundation (ACF), New Delhi which began on August 2 at RCEMPA concluded on August 9 following exhibition of the finished products by participants.
Speaking at the art exhibition titled “A Chain of Wisdom”, Advisor, Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha thanked ACF for coming to Nagaland and sharing their valuable knowledge with the youths.
He said the programme was part of the initiative of chief minister, Neiphiu Rio who had been keen on promoting youths in various fields including TaFMA. He also lauded TaFMA for coming up with productive activities for youths which, he said, indicated it was doing well with all such programmes. Neikha encouraged TaFMA and ACF to come up with more activities like this and even at higher levels with greater participation saying that exercises like this would assist youths to better understand the culture and traditional treasures and help them in exchanging with people from other parts of the world.
Also, speaking at the event, Advisor, Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha said Art and music were the greatest gifts from God.
He said for any significant change in a society, there was a need for time. On that note, he urged youths and leaders to be patient and help ensure that the future generation was put into the right perspective so that they could become men and women of substance.
Yokha encouraged them to be ambassadors of the Naga society, to bridge and connect to people.
Artists from different parts of the country including New Delhi, Kolkata, Assam, Ladakh and Nagaland took part in the programme.
