TAPWO, TABCC condemn attempted rape incident

DIMAPUR, OCT 6 (NPN)

The Tizu Area Public Welfare Organization (TAPWO) and Tizu Area Baptist Church Council (TABCC) have strongly condemned the alleged attempted rape and physical assault of a woman from Kizari village by one Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho village, reportedly a member of NSCN (I-M), on September 24, 2025.
In a joint condemnation, TAPWO and TABCC said they were deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the disgraceful and inhumane act committed against an innocent sister and bonafide citizen of Kizari village. The two bodies said such heinous acts of sexual assault have no place in any society and must be met with the strongest condemnation. “We are outraged and horrified by this incident. Such acts are abhorrent, unacceptable, and deserve the severest punishment,” the statement read.
Expressing solidarity with the victim, TAPWO and TABCC urged all right-thinking citizens to join in condemning the crime and also called upon the competent authorities to arrest the perpetrator, and ensure that justice was delivered to the victim without delay.
