Taxi driver robbed at gunpoint between Viswema and Kedima

A local taxi driver under the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) was robbed at gunpoint by three unidentified miscreants near Viswema and Kedima villages around 4:30 pm on July 21.
According to the driver, the miscreants had hired his taxi from Razhü Point, Kohima. Upon reaching a remote area, they forced him out of the vehicle after grabbing him by the neck. One of the miscreants reportedly held him at gunpoint while the others fled with the vehicle and Rs. 4000 in cash.
The driver, originally from Assam and residing in Nagaland for over five years, described the culprits as middle-aged men who appeared to be Nagas, though he was unable to understand their language. The taxi owner from Viswema stated that the driver had been operating his car for two years and described him as honest and hardworking.

ANTA Kohima, VYO condemn
All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) H.Q. Kohima and the Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO) have strongly condemned the alleged armed carjacking of a taxi (NL01T-A0183) near Viswema and Kedima villages on July 21.
In a condemnation note, ANTA HQ Kohima, president, Dzisevituo Solo said that the taxi was reportedly hired from Razhiipoint, Kohima, and forcibly snatched at gunpoint by three unidentified miscreants at around 4:30 pm near Krayo between Viswema and Kidima.
ANTA denounced the act as a “primitive mode of gun culture and robbery,” calling on law enforcement to take swift action and book the culprits under strict laws. The association reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful public service and pledged full support to the authorities.
Viswema Youth Organisation also expressed deep concern over the assault and intimidation of the taxi driver, where, the taxi—an Alto belonging to Khrieketoulie Neikha of Viswema Village—was hired from Razhiipoint, Kohima, and forcibly snatched at gunpoint by three unidentified miscreants near Krayo.
Viswema Youth Organisation president, Vizhoho Vitsu and general secretary, Viphrezo Kweho reiterated its firm stance against violence and urged law enforcement to expedite investigations, recover the stolen vehicle, and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.
