Taxi fares hiked

Due to escalation of petroleum prices and others in the market, the existing taxi fare for Kohima to Dimapur and vice versa has been reviewed from Rs.120 to Rs. 130, with immediate effect. The hiring charge of Kohima town taxis for town trip has also been upped from Rs. 50 to Rs. 55, an official bulletin informed. The revision of taxi fare was decided in a joint meeting of the Kohima RTA Board with representatives of selected NGOs held Thursday in the office chamber of the ADC Kohima. Meanwhile, All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) in a press release issued by its president Keneingutuo Chielie, conveyed appreciation to the administration and police for lifting entry tax of taxis plying within the state at police check gates.
