TB Centre Kohima conducts painting competition

District TB Centre, Kohima in collaboration with Imchen’s custom art school conducted a painting competition on March 29, as one of the activities to commemorate World TB Day.


The painting competition was conducted under the theme – “Yes! We can end TB.” Certificates and cash prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners under three categories – Primary Category, Junior Category and Senior Category.


Proprietor of Imchen’s custom art school, Moa Imchen who is a 3D Architectural Designer, in his introductory message briefed on the importance of art as way of creative expression implemented through visualization.


While encouraging the Art aspirants, Imchen said picking up a pencil and starting to create can be a daunting task, but with practice and dedication, anyone can develop their skills.
He further said that the school was inclusive and provides opportunities for all students including Children with Special Needs (CwSN).


District TB Officer, Kohima Dr Chibenthung Kithan, highlighted TB as an infectious disease with India having the highest case of TB in the world. Dr Chibenthung therefore said the need for awareness on TB has become more important to achieve India’s aim to eliminate TB.
