TCL: Honours Nagaland’s finest music & arts educators in style

In a lively celebration that blended performance, passion, and pedagogy, Trinity College London (TCL) rolled out the red carpet for local educators in Dimapur (Hotel Saramati, May 30) and Kohima (Mirage Hotel, May 31). The twin events honoured dedicated teachers for shaping the region’s next generation of performers, communicators, and creative thinkers—spotlighting Nagaland’s growing presence on the global cultural map.
Founded in 1872 and revered worldwide for its music, drama, and English language assessments, Trinity College London is no stranger to India’s creative landscape. With a legacy in the country dating back to 1886 and nearly two decades of active engagement in the Northeast, Trinity’s vibrant presence continues to empower young talents with 21st-century skills through globally recognized qualifications.
The spotlight events were hosted by Khyo TCK, Trinity’s Local Area Coordinator for Nagaland, and featured an inspiring address by Jyotishka Dasgupta, Area Manager (East), who compared the transformative role of teachers to a line from a John Denver classic: “Inch by inch, row by row, I’m gonna make this garden grow.” Adding depth to the evening was Dale Edwards, Trinity’s Academic Head for India (Language, Performance & Communication), who highlighted the importance of nurturing not just technical mastery, but also creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and organizational skills—starting as young as age three.
