Tuensang District Amateur Boxing Association (TDABA) has called upon the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) to re-conduct the recent Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) election held on August 9, citing serious concerns regarding the fairness, transparency, and accountability of the electoral process.
In a press release, TDABA expressed deep dissatisfaction with the way the election was conducted, stating that allegations of vote manipulation and bias have “tarnished the integrity of the election process” and undermined the trust of athletes, officials, and fans alike.
“As citizens of Tuensang and stakeholders in the sport, we demand that these allegations be taken seriously,” the association stated.
TDABA has called for an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities and has urged the NOA to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process that upholds the values of integrity in sports governance.
The association emphasized its commitment to protecting the integrity of sports in the state and restoring the confidence of athletes and sporting bodies.
“We are deeply concerned about the impact this issue may have on the trust of our athletes and the broader sporting community. We urge the NOA to take immediate and decisive action to address these allegations,” TDABA stated.
SUTT condemns voting rights denial in NABA election
Sangtam Union Tuensang Town (SUTT) has expressed deep concern and extended full solidarity with the Tuensang District Amateur Boxing Association (TDABA) after it was denied the right to cast its vote during the Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA) presidential election held recently in Kohima, despite receiving an official invitation.
In a press release, SUTT stated that the denial of TDABA’s voting rights undermines the legitimacy and fairness of the electoral process. The Union emphasized that such actions marginalize the district’s representation and silence the aspirations of its young sporting talents.
SUTT reiterated that all recognized members of any association must be allowed to exercise equal rights, including full participation in the election of leadership. The Union highlighted the importance of inclusivity and democratic principles within sports governance structures.
SUTT affirmed its support for TDABA’s call for accountability and urged the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) to take swift and appropriate remedial measures. The Union also called for mechanisms to be put in place to ensure transparency and equal representation in all future elections and decision-making processes within the sporting community.
