Teacher unions suspend proposed stir

All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA), Nagaland Government Higher Secondary Schools Employee’s Association (NGHSSEA) and All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) have decided to suspend their proposed agitation against government’s failure to release pending salaries.

In a press release, Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) president Dr. Ilang stated that three associations took the decision to keep their proposed agitation in abeyance on the request of CANSSEA to mediate with the responsible authorities and settle the matter amicably at the earliest. The decision was taken at a joint meeting held at CANSSEA conference hall, Kohima on October 3, 2023.

It may be mentioned that following the announcement of agitation plan by teacher bodies, the principal director school education through a notification dated September 25, 2023 cautioned the employees of disciplinary action as enshrined under Rule 25 of the Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1968.
